Sessions focus on relapse prevention, and relationship skills, one of the most valuable life skills. Interpersonal skills are the life skills otherwise known as relational skills are important to help you repair any relationships that were damaged through the course of your addiction.
Relapse prevention offers Mindfulness & Emotion Regulation Skills. Emotionally, self-regulation is the ability to maintain a balance in emotions. Education learning about the biology and function of emotions in general helps us to understand our thoughts, behavior, feelings and impulses.
Additional to your stress management plan we offer family mediation to increase communication skills and resolve conflict. Anger Management, social and emotional health programs and Holistic Integrative Wellness options are eligible to be added to your program. Programs may have variations to address personal needs to combat stressors. Non- Pharmacological Pain Management and Addiction and Pregnancy Programs also are available.
Anger and addiction
Anger, aggression and addiction are intertwined. Often people with anger management issues turn to drugs or alcohol as a means of coping with their emotions. The dangerous cocktail exists with this combination resulting in volatile behavior. Anger leads to destructive behavior, physical abuse, emotional abuse, and other dangerous situations. To help keep the recovering addict on track we provide Aftercare support for working on these issues to help you continue your healing process.
Anger management is often selected as an adjunct part of the aftercare program at Insight Therapies. Addiction treatment involves getting to the bottom of the angry emotions and feelings. We help you continue the process that helps both the addiction and anger problems.
