Breathing Tip - Humming

Humming

Humming helps the sinus cavities, contains higher oxygen during exhale creating each breath more proficient in relations of blood oxygenation. It assists the exhale by supplying more oxygen to be taken out from air thus decreasing labored expense of breathing.

Humming is demonstrated by those who appear relaxed. It coordinates the use of a larger part of breath. Humming is proven to be good for us as well as an excellent tool to utilize larger part of breathing mechanics.

Eddie Weitzberg and Jon O. N. Lundberg "Humming Greatly Increases Nasal Nitric Oxide", American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Vol. 166, No. 2 (2002), pp. 144-145. doi: 10.1164/rccm.200202-138BC nitric oxide levels in the sinuses increased 15 times higher during humming compared to normal, quiet exhalations. Nitric oxide (No) expands the blood vessels, and increases blood flow.
