Life and family is meant to be peaceful. Home should be where we go to relax, nourish ourselves and be with the people we love. However, it often is complicated by stress. Recognizing stress symptoms, you can begin to reduce its harmful effects and improve your quality of life. Below is a list of stress symptoms. Cognitive Symptoms

  • Memory problems
  • Inability to concentrate
  • Poor judgment
  • Seeing only the negative
  • Anxious or racing thoughts
  • Constant worrying 

Emotional Symptoms

  • Moodiness
  • Irritability or short temper
  • Agitation, inability to relax
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Sense of loneliness and isolation
  • Depression or general unhappiness 

Physical Symptoms  Neurological response systems

  • Increased heart rate

Short Term Symptoms

  • Eating more or less
  • Sleeping too much or too little
  • Isolating yourself from others
  • Procrastinating or neglecting responsibilities
  • Addictions, Habit Control: Using alcohol, cigarettes, or drugs to relax
  • Nervous habits (e.g. nail biting, pacing)
